We host an annual “Make A Child Happy Day” event each October which enables foster children and children in group homes to get out of their situations and enjoy themselves for a full day of fun and love. If you would like to help, contact Mary Courtney Brooks at mcbrooks@lowcountryorphanrelief.org. This year’s event is October 8, 2011. (Background checks required).

We host our annual “Beach Day” each summer at Folly Beach for children from the group and foster homes. If you would like to help, contact Mary Courtney Brooks at mcbrooks@lowcountryorphanrelief.org. This year’s event is August 20, 2011. (Background checks required).

We create emergency clothing closets in all Charleston County public schools as a school resource for children who attend school without the basic necessities of school life. The closets include underwear, socks, uniforms and toiletries, which helps s to generate a feeling of self worth and helps a child focus on his or her self-esteem.

We served 2,830 children in 2010, and over 9,200 children since 2006, providing them with clothing, underwear, pajamas, coats, shoes and socks, toiletries, school supplies, uniforms, and more.
